I
am presenting amateur photos of places I have traveled. Most of them in a nature
setting and religious pieces. I have a fascination with cherubs and crosses.
I am a writer at heart and working on developing my director’s skills.
A personal goal is to film a full-length feature.
I
started shooting photos as a teenager as a good excuse to make girls take off
there clothes. since then ive actually gotten decent at it and will be showing
a few of the more abstract pieces at FAM 2007. Im Currently working as a writer
directer and you can see some of my projects through the links below.
I like cameras... a lot! A filmmaker at my core, I took my first
photography class thinking it would cost less to learn burning one
frame of silver at a time rather than 24 frames per second. I ended
up broke anyway- some call it an art... I know it's an addiction.
These days I shoot still photographs for films, mostly local low-
budget and no-budget fare. For FAM2007 I will be showing a series
called Super8Seconds. I am excited to be a part of this project.

I like to take pictures. I don't like to talk about why i take pictures.
I
caught my camera habit when I was twelve years old. My Girl Scout troop did
a photography badge and that was that.
After a few years, photography turned to cinematography and I eventually
settled into a nice mix of the two- each informing and allowing me to go beyond
the limitations of the other. I now direct and shoot for film and television,
and I shoot stills as often as possible.
I will be presenting a series of photographs created using long exposures,
which is a favorite technique of mine. A selection of my work is available
online at the sites listed below if you are interested in taking a look...

I
took up photography on a trip to Europe in 2001/2002. I took two Nikon
35mm's and read a book on photography on the flight over the Atlantic. I
wanted to make films someday and was interested in cinema and directors that
told stories with a heavier emphasis on images and sound instead of
dialog...how could you say what needed to be said without saying anything?
I simply wanted to begin to train my eye on mood and composition...to see if
I could frame and capture the states of mind and moods that I was in. My
influences are mainly directors such as Terrence Malick, Michael Mann,
Claire Denis, and Werner Herzog. Other influences include ambient and
instrumental music, large cities at 4AM, Sundays, the first days of true
love, and long walks through overgrown fields littered with the detritus of
crumbling buildings and rusty equipment from long ago.
